Hello and Welcome to my blog! As my first post, I wanted to discuss some awesome (and life-changing) books. Since graduation in May, I hoard books similar to a chipmunk stuffing its cheeks with seeds. There is an abundance of knowledge from others to be learned, and it would be foolish to not take full advantage of it. Considering I still have no idea if I want to become a teacher or not, I keep collecting books in hopes that one will give me direction along with inspiration. Here is a list of books that I have read (or in the process of reading).
Books that I have read in the past few months:
Self Help:
You are a Bad Ass by Jen Sincero
Essentialism by Greg McKeown
The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin
Steal Like An Artist by Austin Kleon
Show your Work by Austin Kleon
Grit by Angela Duckworth
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
Finances:
Broke Millennial by Erin Lowery
The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous, and Broke by Suze Orman
You are a Bad Ass at Making Money Jen Sincero
Entertainment:
Why not me? by Mindy Kaling
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
Self Help work books:
Start Where You Are by Meera Lee Patal
How to be Happy (or at least less sad) by Lee Cutchley
As I continue to write posts, I will be referencing these books towards thoughts and ideas of mine. If I read more in my free time, I will be adding to this list. Hopefully by next year I will have mastered the art of self awareness, found a steady job that I'm passionate about, and be financially sure enough to travel Europe. In college and high school I lost my passion for reading because of excessive amounts of homework, socializing/drinking, and extracurricular activities; however, I am feeling positive and inspired by books since I have free time again.
